Everything worth carrying with you from Sunday: the sermon, the moments that mattered, what is coming up, and simple ways to keep going this week.
Sunday Recap
This weekend at River City, we walked through Jonah 3 and saw what happens when God gives a second chance and calls someone to go again. Troy preached from Jonah’s trip to Nineveh, where a brief warning from God led to immediate repentance from the whole city, from the least to the king. The big question hanging over the morning was personal: who is your Nineveh, and where are you more like Jonah than Jesus? We were reminded that repentance is not a way to manage outcomes or bargain with God, but a real turning back to him. The service also gave us space to sing about Christ’s finished work, confidence in his care, and the victory he gives his people. Altogether, the morning pushed us to stop writing people off and to trust God’s mercy enough to move toward them.

Sermon
Jonah 3
Troy showed us in Jonah 3 that God’s warning to Nineveh was meant to lead to repentance, and we were invited to stop writing people off and instead trust God’s mercy enough to go to the ones we think are least likely to respond.
