We want you to feel comfortable when you get here. We promise to welcome you, but not make it weird. If this is your first Sunday, we want the morning to feel simple, clear, and human from the moment you walk in.
Most first-time guests want to know what the service feels like before they arrive. We try to make Sunday feel understandable from the start.
Preaching From The Bible
Each week we dig into a passage of Scripture trying to understand God’s plan for our flourishing through the story we call the Gospel. We try to be real about conforming our lives to Jesus’s, but also honest about how we all struggle with that.
Music And Worship
You can expect a wide variety of instruments, song styles, and people leading from our stage in a variety of ways.
A Room To Belong
You can expect people to want to get to know you, but also respect your boundaries if you need a little space. We know how hard it is to try something new. We’re thankful you’re here.
Sunday RhythmWarm, simple, and centered on the Gospel.
Arrival Help
A few practical things make first visits easier.
Parking And Arrival
Much of the street parking around 507 Broadway is free. The lot adjacent to the building is free for parking on Sundays. Please use it, as well as the second half of it, which continues around back. During our services, you can ignore the pay-to-park signs. We’ve got it covered.
River City Kids Check-In
Head to the River City Kids check-in kiosk in the kids wing lobby. Our kids hallway lead will help you get set up quickly.
When To Arrive
Our services start at 10:00 AM, but we understand mornings can be unpredictable. We always have fresh coffee and tea ready, and we are genuinely fine if you get here a few minutes late. We would love it if you came early so you could hang out and talk with whoever is there, and we would love it if you stayed after and chatted then too. Please do not stress if you come in a little late. We will be there to smile at you.
For Families
If you are coming with kids, the next section is for you.
Clear check-in, trusted adults, and calm Sunday rhythms can make a first visit feel much easier.
River City Kids
We want families to feel welcomed, helped, and genuinely confident about their children’s care.
We want children in safe, fun environments with trusted adults, and we want parents to know there are clear systems and caring people in place on Sunday mornings. River City Kids exists to serve and partner with families to point kids to Jesus through the Gospel.
Safety & Check-In At A Glance
Check in at the River City Kids kiosk. Kids wear name tags, and pickup uses a matching code.
A kids hallway lead is available on Sunday morning to help families and volunteers.
Volunteers follow a no one-on-one rule, so kids are never alone with a single adult.
Bathroom, diaper, and parent-contact procedures are clear if your child needs help.
If your child needs a little time to settle in, you are welcome to stay with them at first. We will just ask you to interact with your child only.
Safe, Structured Care
Clear check-in, pick-up, classroom, and child-protection procedures help families settle in.
Pointing Kids To The Gospel
We want to partner with families to point kids to Jesus through the Gospel.
Pre-register if you would like, but there is no need to do it ahead of time. We can take care of you that day too.
Sunday Morning
Calm, trustworthy details matter when you are bringing children somewhere new.
Visiting with kids can feel like a lot, especially if everything is new. We want the first few minutes of Sunday morning to feel clear and warm so parents know their children are being cared for well.
Simple Check-In And Pick-Up
Each child receives a name tag and each family receives a matching pick-up tag so drop-off and pick-up stay clear and secure.
Trained Volunteers And Hall Support
Classrooms are staffed by trained volunteers, and a kids hallway lead is available to help with questions, incidents, bathroom needs, and parent communication.
Thoughtful Safety Policies
We use clear safety practices around bathrooms, diaper changes, classroom supervision, allergies, illness, discipline, and emergency response.
For Parents
We want families to feel helped, not stressed, from the first visit on.
Parents are welcome to help a child settle in if needed, and we work hard to make classrooms feel calm, age-appropriate, and well cared for. We also take child protection seriously, which is why our volunteer expectations and classroom procedures are clear.
If you have questions before you visit, we would much rather help ahead of time than leave you guessing on Sunday morning.
